About
I am Rohit Khandelwal, an architect, urban planner, and Vastu consultant.
My work sits at the intersection of traditional Indian spatial knowledge and contemporary architecture. Over the years, I have worked with homeowners, professionals, and organizations who wish to understand how the design and orientation of a space may influence daily life.
Many people encounter Vastu through fragmented advice or fear-based interpretations. My approach is different.
I see Vastu not as superstition, but as a traditional framework for understanding spatial balance, environmental orientation, and human experience within built environments. Through my work at Aayatan Veda, I help people interpret these principles in ways that are practical, thoughtful, and compatible with modern architecture.
"Understanding a space begins with observing how it is planned, oriented, and lived in."

Approach
Architecture shapes the physical form of our spaces. Vastu reflects centuries of observation about how those spaces influence human life.
When these perspectives are integrated thoughtfully, they offer insights about:
How I Can Help
People reach out at different stages of their journey with a space. Often small adjustments in spatial usage, layout, or orientation can meaningfully improve how a place feels and functions.
01
Planning a new home from the ground up.
02
Selecting between multiple properties or plots.
03
Understanding challenges within an existing home.
04
Renovating a space with care and intention.
05
Exploring how Vastu principles apply to modern living.
Clarity
Much of the information available online about Vastu can be confusing or overly rigid. Here are a few clarifications.
Misconception
Vastu requires major demolition.
Many improvements can be achieved through thoughtful spatial adjustments rather than structural changes.
Misconception
Every home must follow the same rules.
Each building has unique architectural and cultural context. A thoughtful approach always respects that.
Misconception
Vastu is superstition.
Many principles relate directly to orientation, environment, and spatial balance — concepts central to architecture itself.
Misconception
Vastu is only relevant in India.
Spatial harmony can be explored in homes anywhere in the world when interpreted thoughtfully and contextually.
Remote Consultation
Many clients live outside India. Most consultations can be done remotely through a simple, unhurried process.
Share basic information about your space — floor plans, orientation, and photographs — at your own pace.
I review the layout from both architectural and Vastu perspectives, observing how the space is organized and experienced.
We schedule a focused conversation to discuss your space, my observations, and your questions in depth.
I provide practical recommendations that respect the existing architecture and avoid unnecessary disruption to how you live.
Before You Decide
When exploring Vastu, the quality of guidance depends greatly on the approach of the practitioner. These questions may help you make a more informed decision.
01
Vastu ultimately relates to how spaces are organised, oriented, and experienced. A consultant who understands architecture is better positioned to interpret it in ways that work with the design of the building.
02
Good guidance should help you understand your space more clearly, not create anxiety about it. Vastu should be approached as a way of improving spatial balance and functionality.
03
Many contemporary homes have structural constraints that cannot easily be changed. Meaningful Vastu guidance should emphasise practical adjustments that respect the architecture.
When approached with curiosity and openness, Vastu can become a useful framework for reflecting on how our environments influence daily life. If you are exploring these ideas and wish to discuss your space, you are welcome to reach out.
Founder's Note
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to interact with people from very different walks of life.
Most people do not seek Vastu out of superstition. They seek it because they sense that the spaces we inhabit influence our lives in subtle ways.
My own journey began through architecture and urban planning — disciplines that taught me to observe how the built environment shapes human experience. Vastu offered another lens through which these relationships could be understood.
Through this website I simply wish to share that perspective.
If you are exploring Vastu thoughtfully, with curiosity rather than fear, I would be glad to offer guidance wherever it may be useful.
